Coming Home !!!!!

No letter from Lindsey this week just this picture and this song! (I added a few pictures to the song)

This is a note from Sister Solum's Blog (Lindsey's last companion)

So with it being Sister Hulet's last week I wanted to talk about her just a wee bit. She has been such an inspiration to me here on my mission. Even though we are completely different people, she has helped me grow more than I can thank her enough for. She is such a dedicated, strong person and it has shown in her work. She is an AMAZING teacher. She always knows what to do in any situation, when our plans change, when people need help etc.. She knows SO MUCH about the gospel, she can answer practically any question I have. She is HILARIOUS, I always have loads of fun with her. She is super creative and also has weird, random talents that most people don't have but it makes her really cool. I could go on and on in this list but something really admirable to me is how much she has enjoyed her mission. You can tell how much she has loved it and continues to love it each day. That is something I want to be able to say when I am where she is right now. She is an inspiration to me and everyone around her each day.

Thank you Sister Solum

Week 75 | Aberdeen, Scotland

Last meal with the group at sister grahams

Tonitia!

Lyla

Loads happened last week. We had our zone interview training, where we got to have interviews with President Brown, which is always great, and I got to spend some time with the zone again. It was rough realizing it was my last one, especially when we sang the mission song all together at the end. It was weird, in a sad way. But it was still a great day and Sister Gilbert came up to give training so I got to spend the day with her! We ate at Nandos, then went to a sweet broadcast! There was a European Woman’s broadcast that was taking place in Germany and so we got to watch it! Elder Ballard and Bednar spoke along with some area authorities. It was amazing! Really it was definitely a highlight of my week!

So we are teaching this guy called Sam and he is from Ghana but lived in Germany the last few years. So when we went to teach him we brought Sister Hallman, a German sister in our ward, and her mum was visiting from Germany and speaks no English! So we go and the majority of the time they were just speaking German and I was like, dang I wish I had paid more attention that year in German class cuz I think it would be paying off now.. but its fine, the spirit was there regardless of the languages being used!

Baptism preparations are crazy stressful! So much to do in so little time! It’s all good but just packed into our schedules! I am not complaining though, Tonitia is so prepared and ready it is nuts, it is going to be so amazing on Saturday, I cannot wait!

I got the best surprise ever on Friday night! I was just sitting at my desk by my window and Sister Solum was already in bed, when I looked out and saw someone waving.. I was well confused then my eyes focused and I thought, "It couldn't be..IT IS!" and there outside of my flat in Aberdeen stood the Wilfords and Jody!! I RAN outside and hugged them all! It was the best night ever! They are all so amazing and it was like I had never left Alloa. They had come up to see the northern lights and popped round for a visit! I miss them all so much it was great to see them!

Well I will hopefully have some time next week to write but this week will be great! Love you all

Letter from President Brown

Dear Brother and Sister Hulet

Your daughter, Sister Lindsey Hulet, will complete her full time missionary service in the Scotland/Ireland Mission on 24 September 2014.

Sister Hulet has been a good missionary and her involvement in the work of the Scotland/Ireland Mission has been meaningful.  We will miss her, along with her dedication and devotion to the work.  Many of the people in the areas she has served have had their hearts touched and their lives enriched as she shared the message of the Restored Gospel of Jesus Christ with them.  Her contribution to the missionary effort has certainly moved the work forward, and will have eternal consequences.

You will find attached to this email a listing of the areas she has served, her companions, and her assignments.  Hopefully this will prove useful in helping you learn more about her mission experience.

Our love and prayers accompany her as she returns home to family and friends.

Sincerely,

Alan H. Brown

Week 74 | Aberdeen, Scotland

Stella let us have a go on her scooter when we met her in the city
last week! That thing is faster than it looks!

More of Aberdeenshire

Sunday was one of the best days of all time! Fist off, Tonita accepted a baptismal date for September 20th!! Meaning she will be getting baptized 2 days before I leave Aberdeen!! I have never been so excited for anything! It was the best moment when she told us she had prayed and thought about it a lot and decided it felt right! I wanted to cry and hug her, but I kept my cool! This all happened as we met with her before sacrament meeting with Jessica again, and then during testimony meeting Tonitia went up and gave the BEST testimony I have ever heard! She talked about how everything she has learned has changed her life and how much she loves the scriptures! I was just beaming the whole time. I am so happy for her!

Last week in general was one of our best weeks. We got a lot done and were running to appointments at times. We have been really busy lately and it’s been great! Aberdeen gets better and better every day, despite all the pouring rain we have been caught in lately!

Week 73 | Aberdeen, Scotland

Lizanne, this awesome lady we visit, she is obsessed
with Billy Idol! she feeds us good food

Saw this outside a church in the city.. good one!

Things are going great with Tonitia, we were able to meet her with Jessica finally the other day and those two are awesome! Jessica just bore the best testimony and answered all of Tonitias questions with personal experience. It was brilliant! Jessica is doing great by the way, I guess I probably haven’t talked about her much lately, but she is now the YW president and is giving a talk in a couple of weeks in sacrament. She is so busy it’s hard to see her but when we do its always great!

So there is a massive vote going to be taking place in Scotland in a couple of weeks. It is a vote to decide whether or not Scotland will become independent! These last few weeks have been nuts, especially on the weekend. So many people out pushing their votes trying to get more on their side. There are huge YES rallies and stands with flags and loads of people in the city most Saturdays. Everyone gives us their opinions on it and I am just grateful I don't get a vote because I would have no idea what to choose. It is pretty cool though to be here in Scotland at this time though and get to witness all of the madness :) It’s a pretty exciting time for Scotland!

Things are good, life is great, I don't want to leave!

Week 72 | Aberdeen, Scotland

Yesterday was Zone Development day! It was a blast! We went out to Slains Castle again and played some capture the flag in the ruins with our zone. We had a packed lunch and spent most of the day there. After that we headed to the church where we played a massive game of Chair football and had some costco pizza for dinner. It was delicious! When it came to the time that some of the elders from far away had to head home, the rest of us had a nerf gun battle! There is a guy in our ward who has loads of guns so he brought them and all his bullets and we set up tables and chairs and things around the gym and split into two teams. It was so much fun! I didn’t take many pictures of the day.. actually I took none, but I will get some from other people around me to send home. Sorry but I forget about pictures when I am having fun!

Tonitia is amazing! She came to church again on Sunday and we have been seeing her as often as we can. She is such a great girl! Also, Lyla, a less active we have been seeing came to church with us! She is really cool and it has been a while since she has been out to church. It was a great week last week and especially the last few days!

Love, Sister Hulet

A quick note to Stephanie when she asked Lindsey if she was ready to come home:

I am very very very gutted to be leaving scotland. I think I am actually depressed at times cuz I really don’t want to leave here. It makes me sad to think about it. Don’t get me wrong, it will be great to see you all, but I feel like I belong in Scotland..

Week 71 | Aberdeen, Scotland

Teaching with Laura. She is the best!

Hello!

This week was good. We have been doing a lot of painting and wallpaper removing over the past couple of weeks but it’s really nice. I like helping members out, and putting on paint clothes.

Tonitia is officially awesome! She has come to church the last few weeks and is just loving everything! She has already had some really great experiences and answers to her prayers! She is just powering through the BOM and we gave her a bible the other day and she has been reading in the NT and really enjoying it. She also likes Harry Potter and so we got talking about it for a while the other day, found out we were both Ravenclaw so.. instant friends!

I told Hailey a bit about these last time then realized I have never told you all about them. DEEP FRIED MARS BARS. They are delicious! And I even got sister Solum to eat them (and she is usually pretty healthy so this was a big win for me)! They are just what they sound. A mars bar in batter then deep fried. YUM! I will send some pictures cuz we got some more last week. I will really miss Scotland for the things like this!

Love

Sister Hulet
