Thanks to everyone for
the letters/emails/packages for my birthday! It was a great weekend!
Saturday Marie
took us out to eat at a little Italian cafe. It was delicious! And she was
really sick but she insisted on taking me out for my birthday! Her and Victoria
also had 3 parcels waiting for me to open when I got into the car! They are too
sweet. They gave me a scarf hat and mitten set, a new "Sunday bag"
and a bag full of all kinds of things from some of the kids she minds, like
notebook, pens, lotion, toys and stuff. It was such a good day! I took a nap during
dinner Saturday night and woke up to the place decorated with some
streamers and balloons. Sister Oliphant is very nice! I had spaghetti and dp
for my birthday meal on Sunday and a few missionaries phoned to sing/ tell
me happy birthday haha it was a good day. Sister Watt also phoned and we talked
for a while. She’s only been gone like 4 days but I miss her! She is enjoying
her new area but she says it’s a total 180 from Motherwell.
Sister Oliphant is my
new companion, she is from West Jordan Utah, she is the oldest of 6 kids and
she knows a lot of random facts about random things. She also collects rubber
bands so we will be walking and she will just bend down and pick them up off
the road then add them to a rubber band ball at night. she’s funny!
We have been doing a
lot of chapping this week! a lot a lot! we found this cool area I seemed to
have missed cuz the buses don’t really go by there much and so we have gone
back a couple of nights and met some really great people. One guy called Frank
talked to us for about an hour on his porch. He had met with the missionaries
before but he will never convert cuz there are too many flaws with the bible.
He has a genius iq and is like way too science based, but he believes there is
a creater.. he just doesn’t know if it is a god figure. I don’t know why but I
love talking to people like him. It was a really good conversation and
everything we said, he really thought about it and I loved it! Sister O wanted
to set up a return appointment but we didn’t and I don’t think we will go back.
He is just very very set in his ways and I would get too caught up in
conversations and wee tiffs with him to actually help him grow in the gospel.
We chapped into a few potentials however and have some appointments set up for
next week! We also finally got in contact with a few less actives we have
chapped a bunch and they were all finally in yesterday! We have a couple
appointments with them as well next week! So, this past week has been a really
good building week! Hopefully this week will be even better!
