So, this past week was crazy! So much happened and I don’t have
enough time or energy to write about it all!
I think I will just stick to explaining some of these awesome
pictures I will be sending :)
We finally got in contact with a less active lady who sister
watt and I had tried by multiple times, but she was never in. So she let us in
and we started talking and she is such a cool person! Well, turns out, her son
loves reptiles, like a lot! So she took us to this back room and there are HUGE
cases filled with huge snacks and lizards and things like that. CRAZY cool! So THEN
she tells us "this is just a sample" and takes us to this locked shed
out back and guess what... they have crocodiles!! Like multiple crocodiles! I
got a lot of pictures but the lighting is all pretty bad but I will send them
anyway!
Funny story, I forgot to tell you but a few weeks ago a guy in
our ward arranged for us (the 4 missionaries) to be interviewed by the Hamilton
Advertiser. So, we all went and this guy took a bunch of pictures then
interviewed us for a good 10 minutes each! At least! Well, one night last week
we were in an appointment and we leave and look at our phone and have like a
bunch of missed calls and texts from people in the ward like laughing and
telling us we were in the paper and to go read it! Sister Dunconson said
"the article title is 'members of American church in town for a visit.'
hahaha I always thought you were preaching the gospel. Now I realize that you
were just sightseeing different doors on different streets!" It was pretty
funny! The picture is really bad, and the article is tiny and it gets the name
of our church wrong and refers to it as an American church. It is just really
funny all together!
It was Victoria's birthday on Sunday so we went over
to theirs for a wee party with just the 4 of us. Sister Watt and I had ordered
her a ctr ring a while ago and it came in the post just in time! She loved it!
She got a lot of new clothes and things like that but my favorite was a new
onesie she got for the youth overnight temple trip coming up! She is going to
the family history center tonight to start getting her family names so she can
take them down to the temple with her when she goes in a couple of weeks! Ah
she is just too great! I told her I loved going on baptismal trips, even though
I only had to travel 45 minutes rather than 3 hours, they were still the best
trips ever!
I had my first Scottish fry up! Which is exactly as it sounds.
we caught a bus over to sister ross' with Lynnmarie and her kids on Friday morning.
It basically is just breakfast but with EVERYTHING fried and tasty! Some of the
menu included, potatoes, tomatoes, sausage, olives, fried bread, beans, eggs,
bacon, hagus, and black pudding.. yes I tried my first ever black pudding!! It
was actually not too bad! It was good with all the other things I was eating
that morning! haha it was really fun!
So... on a more spiritual note, district meeting this morning
was really good. We listened to a talk and watched some good videos. I swear
that whole meeting was just for me. I have had some stuff on my mind the past
week and my district leader just taught the lesson like he knew everything in
my mind and everything I needed to hear. Another elder even made a comment that
struck me pretty deep. It was a simple comment and not even too serious, but it
was honestly just what I needed to hear. If I have learned anything as a
missionary, it’s that the little miracles matter. They honestly do, I can't
tell you how many times I have had my prayers answered through random
scriptures I read in my daily reading that I just come across and totally
change the way I teach or think! I love being a missionary! It’s tough, don’t
get me wrong, but I know its Gods work and I'm here for a reason. I love the
gospel, I don’t say it enough in my emails, I don’t say it enough in general,
but I do! The church is true! I love you all!
Love, sister hulet
