I hope everyone noticed the picture in the conference ensign this last month! I think it was on page like 74, and it is at our mission home in Edinburgh and its some of our elders with the stone that is ever so famous! I dont know all of the elders but in there are the assistants that are way cool, and some other elders i have met and are equally cool!
We met the coolest girl on the street last week! Her name is Alex, she's in her 20's and she was born in the states. We stopped her and started asking questions as usual and she said she wasnt really interested in any organised religion but that she has always kind of been jealous of people who have a faith in something. We began telling her a bit about our church and how great it was and she seemed really interested so we pulled out a book of mornom to give her and she got so excited! She was like "wait, this is free? and i can really keep it? WHAT" she was like laughing and just really loud and excited to talk to us. she works a lot though so we cant see her until next wednesday but i honestly cant wait! When we were about to leave she said "oh thank you guys so much i honestly am so excited to read this, i've never read the bible or anything like this before, its pretty exciting!" then she hugged us all! like a big hug! haha it was definitely not what we are used to when we stop people in the street, especially because all day prior to this we had been rejected over and over again.
This past week was crazy busy! We had our all scotland conference where we got to go to Edinburgh and see all the missionaries serving in scotland right now. It was really fun and really good. Afterwards, we were on 48 hour exchanges. And sis galbraith and i were trainers... two sisters from Aberdeen came and stayed with us and so we split up appointments and went our seperate ways for wednesday. I was with sister Gilbert, and she was cool. Very very friendly. We had some good lessons in the park but for the most part people were pretty mean that day so she kind of got a bad impression of the people in Kirkcaldy, but i assured her most days people werent so rude. But she did say Kirkcaldy was much prettier than her area, and while we were on the bus traveling between villages she just stared out the window in awe. I guess i am already forgetting how lucky i am to be in such a beautiful place because i took the time on the bus to sleep a little haha.
We have been over at a less actives house painting a lot this week which has been swell! Her name is Stella, and she is actually president brown's sister. i dont know if i have talked about her before but she is so cool! She is going to take us to st andrews next pday! She went on a mission and worked in the temple and everything but still fell away. We keep trying though :) She loves us because she misses her daughters so much. One is in New Zealand and the other is in Australia. They have travelled the world! We always hear cool stories and see cool pictures of them!
We went over to Frances' the other day. She is 94 and just had a stroke but is still as cheaky as ever! she is so funny and she was so excited to teach us how to make a skirt and to knit haha. so sis galbraith made a skirt and we are all sharing it, like the sisterhood of the traveling skirt! So excited for that.
Well sorry i realised today as we started getting ready that i didnt take any pictures this week.. so the following pictures are titled "Our weekly adventures while journeying to the Sinclair town Library" :)
(starting at our flat with the spiral stairs, and ending with the library.)
