Week 8 | Scotland

This week has been so great. It has been our most successful week yet, and our district leader finally realises we are doing work because our numbers actually show success for once :)
We are teaching a former investigator named Dean. He is 26 and used to be an MMA fighter! He is super cool! He came to church a few times a little over a year ago but then stopped for a couple of different reasons. We were up in his area trying to talk with a less active member and found him.  He said he was kind of missing the missionary dicussions and church and was glad to see us! We started teaching him last week and we had to teach him the first discussion in the hallway of his building because the member that was going to come visit with us ended up not being able to at the last minute so we couldnt go into his home alone without another woman. So, i was a bit nervous for the whole lesson in the hallway but it was still pretty good! He couldnt come to church yesterday however, because he was going to a rave saturday night haha. So.. hopefully next week we'll get him there!
We are also teaching a couple of less actives that we are getting really excited about! Jennifer was going to come to church yesterday but she woke up really sick and went to the hospital. She is about 24 and hasnt been to church in over 5 years because she got pregnant young and said the ward members were really judgemental and rude so hasnt wanted to come back but she finally agreed to try and come so hopefully next week!
Penny is the best. i dont know if ive told you about her but she hasnt been to church in 18 years. she was baptised and went for a month or so but when the missionaries left, so did she. She doesnt know much at all but we see her atleast once a week and teach her, her mom, and her daughter (neither of which are baptised). She is just so great and we invited her to church finally and she said she would think about it. she has a lot of crazy questions because a close friend is a jehovahs witness and puts weird thoughts into her head!
Janice is new :) we chapped her door and she let us right in which was so great! She is divorced and is now living with a new partner (oh, over here everyone's boyfriend or girlfriend is a partner, just so you're not confused). She said she left because she didnt feel anything. She was only converted because she was going through troubles in her marriage and thought god could help, but once her marriage ended, she stopped coming to church, which was about 15 years ago. We have our first official lesson with her tonight so i'm really excited about that!
Okay i know i have said how amazing the members are here about a million times but they really are! Last week we had tea with the Blacks. They live right behind the golf course in Glenrothes and Bro Black golfs everyday, he says "its a hard life, but somebodys gotta live it" with a cheeky smile on his face! So after tea he handed us a few golf clubs and we walked out their back gate right onto the course and got to play a little golf. So yes Ryan, I HAVE GOLFED IN SCOTLAND! haha it was so fun! and although i was way better than my companions, i still did terrible! Kind of embarassing! But he just wanted us to be able to tell everybody that we've golfed here!
Tomorrow we have an all Scotland Conference in Edinburgh which i am really really excited about! We have to wake up early to get the train over though, but it will be worth it! After that, we are going on 48 hour exchanges, where Sister Hopkin is going to Aberdeen and 2 brand new girls that just came out will come to Kirkcaldy so sister Galbraith and I have to take the lead and split with them for wednesday and thursday! I am a bit nervous to "train" so early on, but we will see how it goes!

Sorry no new pictures this week. I will just forward you some from elder c. from last week from the wedding and the beach.
